Frequently Asked Questions

01
A dropper bottle is a container paired with a pipette cap that dispenses liquid in precise, controlled drops. It typically consists of three parts: the bottle, a rubber or silicone bulb, and a glass or plastic pipette that draws liquid up and releases it drop by drop. This makes it a preferred choice for liquid- and oil-based products that require measured application, such as serums, essential oils, and tinctures.
02
Dropper bottles are used across personal care, pharmaceutical, and home care products that require precise, measured dosing. In personal care, common applications include facial oils, serums, sunscreens, and hyaluronic acids. Pharmaceutical uses include Rx and OTC bottles, eye drops, tinctures, and CBD oils, while home care applications range from food coloring to flavor and fragrance formulas.
03
Glass and plastic dropper bottles each suit different priorities, and the better choice depends on the product and its requirements. Glass is chemically inert, non-porous, and preferred for premium or sensitive formulations. Plastic is lightweight, shatter-resistant, and more cost-effective, making it well-suited to travel formats and high-volume runs. Evergreen offers premium dropper bottles in both glass and plastic to match each product's needs.
04
Dropper bottle size is defined by both the bottle capacity and neck finish, with the neck finish determined by closure the bottle is designed to fit. Evergreen offers capacities from 15ml to 120ml (0.5oz–4oz) across a range of neck finishes, including DIN18, 13-425, 15-415, 18-400, 20-410, 24-410, and 28-410, plus custom options. Dropper and pipette lengths are matched to the bottle height.
05
Dropper bottles offer several functional features that improve safety and usability. Child-resistant and tamper-evident closures add protection for pharmaceutical and regulated products such as CBD oils, while auto-loading pipettes and pipette dosage markers support accurate, repeatable dispensing. Evergreen offers auto-loading, tamper-evident, child-resistant, pipette marker, and UV protection features across its dropper bottle portfolio.
06
Auto-loading dropper bottles dispense a precise dose without requiring the user to squeeze a bulb to draw product into the pipette. Instead, the pipette fills automatically through a built-in mechanism, improving dosing consistency and reducing mess. Evergreen offers two auto-loading structures: a push-button dropper that draws product up when the top is pressed, and a rotary dropper that self-fills as the cap is twisted open.
07
Dropper bottles can protect light-sensitive ingredients when paired with the right material and finish. Amber glass, frosted finishes, and UV-protective treatments help shield formulations like retinol and vitamin C, which degrade when exposed to light. Evergreen offers glass colors that support UV protection (such as amber and dark green), along with frosted (acid etching) and spray coating options to support product stability.
08
Quality control for dropper bottles centers on verifying dispensing accuracy, seal integrity, and component fit across the bottle, bulb, and pipette. Testing typically includes drop-volume and dosing consistency checks, leak and closure testing, dimensional inspection of neck finishes, and visual inspection of decoration. Evergreen QC engineers are onsite at all productions globally, identifying and resolving issues during manufacturing rather than after shipment.
