Uses and Benefits

The use of glass in pharmaceutical packaging has many benefits. Glass is temperature-resistant, allowing products to be sterilized or stored at specific temperatures with no impact to its stability. Colored glass protects products from UV rays that can impact their efficacy. Pharmaceutical glass is categorized based on its level of chemical resistance, with type 1 (borosilicate glass) being the most resistant, type 2 (treated soda-lime glass) being fairly resistant, and type 3 (regular soda-lime glass) being the least resistant.
