Frequently Asked Questions

01
Industrial chemicals are packaged in metal formats — most commonly chemical cans and aerosol cans — along with chemically resistant plastic bottles, aluminum bottles, and cartridges for adhesives and sealants. Format choice depends on the chemistry, volume, and transport classification. Evergreen supplies all of these formats from ISO-certified facilities.
02
UN-rated packaging has passed standardized performance tests — including drop, stack, and leakproofness testing — certifying it to safely transport hazardous materials under UN transport regulations. The rating is marked directly on the container and corresponds to specific packing groups. Evergreen offers UN-rated packaging products for hazardous chemical applications.
03
Industrial chemical packaging suppliers should hold ISO9001 certification, with DOT certification required for aerosol production and UN ratings for hazardous goods containers. Audit-backed quality systems matter as much as the certificates. Evergreen's facilities are ISO-certified and audited across 165 quality management metrics, with QC engineers onsite at all productions.
04
Compatibility is verified through stability testing, where the filled container is stored under controlled conditions and monitored for corrosion, permeation, stress cracking, or component failure. Solvents, acids, and oxidizers each stress packaging differently, so testing must use the final formulation. Evergreen provides samples and supports customers through the stability testing process.
05
Metal packaging suits solvent-based products, flammables, and formulations that permeate or stress-crack plastics, while plastic suits water-based chemistries at lower cost and weight. Transport regulations may also dictate the choice for certain hazard classes. Evergreen supplies both, including aluminum bottles, chemical cans, and HDPE containers.
06
Chemical cans are used for paints, coatings, solvents, lubricants, and adhesives, with F-style and cone top cans being the most popular formats. Both serve similar products, but F-style cans hold larger volumes (typically a gallon) and their rectangular shape makes them easier to store, while cone top cans are smaller, usually quart-sized. Evergreen manufactures both, with internal linings matched to the formulation being filled.
07
Cartridges are cylindrical containers designed for dispensing viscous products — sealants, adhesives, greases, and caulks — through manual or pneumatic guns. Key specifications include barrel material, plunger design, and nozzle compatibility with standard dispensing equipment. Evergreen supplies cartridges in plastic, aluminum, and paper-composite constructions.
08
Aerosol cans deliver controlled atomization for products like lubricants, contact cleaners, and coatings while sealing contents from air and contamination throughout use. Pressurized containers must be produced under DOT-certified conditions and matched to the formulation's pressure rating. All Evergreen aerosol facilities are ISO9001 and DOT-certified.
